I charge $75 for a one-hour drum lesson.
Payments are acceptable via Venmo, personal
check, or cash and are due the day of the lesson. I strongly encourage students to come once a
week. Allowing two or more weeks to pass between lessons is a great way to forget things or
develop bad practice habits. Trust me on that one.

I don’t offer half-hour lessons because it’s unrealistic to expect to get much work done in that
amount of time. Like a Mozart sonata, a lesson has a natural arc: an introduction, development,
recapitulation, and ending. It can take a while to get there, with additional time needed to
summarize, review, and answer questions. In my view, much of this is lost or rushed in a half-hour. If you feel strongly that shorter lessons would be more suitable, I occasionally make
exceptions. Please contact me and I’d be happy to discuss it. |

It’s acceptable to cancel a lesson without being charged provided you contact me in advance
and reschedule. As a working musician my availability varies, but I am flexible and will do
whatever I can to select a day and time that’s convenient for both of us. If you miss a lesson
but fail to contact me and reschedule, you will be charged the full rate.
